Pinaki M. Mukherjee (He/Him) is a corporate economist and author with over two decades of experience helping organisations understand how changes in the economic environment shape business decisions. He currently serves as an Economist at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, where he provides strategic assessments and outlooks of India's macroeconomic & business environment to support senior management in decision-making.
Earlier, he worked with the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) and the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), contributing to economic research and forecasting for government, industry, and financial institutions. He is also a member of the Reserve Bank of India's Panel of Professional Forecasters.
His work combines economics, business strategy, data science, and forecasting. He has developed a Government of India copyrighted algorithm-based forecasting framework for analysing and anticipating changes in India's macroeconomic business environment.
He is the author of the forthcoming book, The Algorithmic Economist: How to Decipher and Forecast India's Macroeconomic Business Environment, which presents a practical framework for transforming economic data into evidence-based business decisions.
Pinaki is M.Sc. in Economics and MBA in Finance. He received professional training from the IMF on Macroeconomic Forecasting and from the Stanford Centre for Professional Development (Stanford University) on Machine Learning.
